Flat Steel Sales Professional
We are looking for a
dynamic, strategic, sales professional
to join our team. This role will primarily be responsible for the
generation of
inquiries, building relationships with suppliers, negotiating and
selling, and
following up with documentation and customer service.
The ideal candidate
has a proven track record. We’re looking
for an energetic self-starter with a consultative sales approach who is
pro-active in driving revenue and increasing client base. You must be
results-driven, have strong analytical skills and be committed to
creating new
business opportunities.
Candidate must have a deep
understanding of the
International Steel Industry.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively Prospect, Qualify, Grow, and Maintain an
international account list
- Form partnerships
and deep
relationships that align
with and contribute to the successful growth of our company.
- Evaluate and identify potential business development
relationships with appropriate partners.
- Identify and understand
trends within client markets
and the steel industry particularly in the Cold Rolled, Hot Rolled and
Galvanised
Steel sector of the Steel Industry.
- Ensure accuracy of Proforma invoices,
Purchases Orders,
Sales contracts
Ensure Letters of credit are opened in a
timely fashion
and are accurate.
- Follow up and ensure amendments where needed.
- Maintain internal databases of buyers and
sellers and
ensure accuracy of data.
- Ensure timely shipments, accurate
documentation, and
on-time payment by the buyers.
- Follow up with after sales service and for
repeat
orders.
- Assist in development of content on the
website.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of international steel sales
experience
predominantly in Cold Rolled, Galvanised or Hot Rolled Steel Sector of
the Steel Industry.
- Relationship with top marketing decision
makers at
Steel Companies
- High level negotiation and diplomatic skills
with an
ability to drive consensus.
- Proven track record of success driving
revenue through
the development of long-term strategic relationships
- Demonstrated track record of structuring and
managing
complex negotiations to successful closure and delivery.
- Sound skills on the Internet, Microsoft
Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel on short notice.
- Demonstrated ability to cooperate, work and
communicate
with coworkers and/or outside contacts. Also contributes to the overall
“performance driven” culture and Team Work.
- Well-developed sense of urgency and follow
through
- Ability to develop and maintain professional
working
relationships with co-workers and peers
- Strong understanding of international trade
documentary
requirements
- Ability to study letters of credit and other
payment
and ensure accurate documentation.
- Ability to work with a digital camera and
save images.
