ArcelorMittal has increased offers for all new coil orders, with hot rolled coil offers in Western Europe up Eur20/mt to Eur580/mt ex-works Ruhr, according to sources.

The company had withdrawn from the market, but with raw material and international steel prices strengthening in recent weeks, the company decided to return to the market with increased offers.

Base grade hot dip galvanized coil offers are up to Eur680/mt ex-works while cold rolled coil offers are up to Eur640/mt, suggesting the spread with HR is continuing to be squeezed.

ArcelorMittal is understood to be phasing in the offers as it is still focusing on finalizing remaining Q1 orders with the biggest end-users and service centers.

In Southern Europe, a source close to the company said new offers for HRC are up to Eur530/mt ex-works, with HDG offers up to Eur620/mt base ex-works.

The region is nearly fully booked for January and February so new offers are for March.

While in Northern Europe other producers are yet to react, in Italy Arvedi, Ilva and Marceagalia all announced price increases in recent weeks.
